About 250 quintals of wheat arrived in Radaur grain market on the first day

On behalf of the government, the work of procurement of wheat in the mandis started from Friday. About 250 quintals of wheat arrived in Radaur grain market on the first day. Whereas wheat could not arrive in Gumthala and Jathlana grain market attached to Radaur. Gulab Singh, a farmer of village Khajuri, first reached the market with wheat crop. Farmers are apprehensive that wheat yield will be low this year. For which the farmer is blaming the indifference of the weather for it.

Gulab Singh, a farmer who reached the mandi with wheat, told that this time the weather was changeable. It has rained more and summer had already arrived. Which has affected the yield of the crop. This time farmers may suffer a loss of 5 to 7 quintals per acre. The government should give additional bonus to the farmers so that the loss of the farmers can be compensated. At the same time, farmers coming to sell their crops should be provided with adequate facilities in the market and their payment should also be received on time.

Market Committee Secretary Vinod Goel informed that the purchase will be done by Ware House and Hafed in Radaur Mandi. Warehouse will be purchased for three days on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, four days will be purchased from Hafed. Instructions have been given to the procurement agencies so that the gunny bags are available on time to the arhtiyas. On the first day, the warehouse has procured the wheat that reached the mandi. Farmers bring their crops to the market only after drying them so that they can avoid loss and trouble
